DATABASE - SEZAM
The SEZAM database (Archival Collection Record System) is the basic record of the archival collection. Various, steadily improved versions of this database have been functioning in Polish archives since 1995.
In its version presented here, the database contains basic information concerning the archival collections kept in the State Archive in Cracow (together with its branches in Bochnia, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Targ and Tarnów).

Archival collection name
- full name of the archival collection being searched, or its fragment

Category, section
(not mandatory information) - lists of classification headings, enabling the search of a given group of files, e.g. notary files

(not mandatory information) - a given period of time (years)
As a result of the search there appear: the number of the archive in which the collection is kept; the collection number; full name of the archival collection and range dates of a given documentation.
In order to obtain more precise information about a given archival collection of files, you should click its name. You will get the address of the archive in which the given files are kept; information on the category and section into which it has been placed; which archival auxiliary materials have been prepared and the dimension of the collection in archival units of measurement and in metres.
